DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs)

Background
The DEFRA offices were, as with many government departments, lacking the ambiance and modern cutting edge of a contemporary office. With this in mind, when it was decided that DEFRA in Leicester was to be refurbished the lighting was a major consideration of the project. This basically meant that non-obtrusive luminaires that could promote a modern and inspiring working environment were required for the offices and communal areas.
Solution
Solution SR (Semi-Recessed) was chosen for it's sleek streamline appeal plus it's technical specification. The Solution SR (Semi-Recessed) is a contemporary luminaire with a low profile body which offers greater harmonisation with it's location. With a basket that hangs below the line of the ceiling a certain amount of light is distributed at a 90° angle and therefore on to the ceiling itself. The Solution SR fittings used for this project were controlled using DSI(E) digital dimming.
