Background
Scantec Personnel is one of the UK's leading independent recruitment agencies. They needed to enter the next phase of expansion by moving their headquarters into purpose built offices at Twelve Quays on the Wirrel. This prestigious move would enable staffing levels to be increased dramatically given that 11,000 square foot that would now be available to them.
The lighting scheme primarily needed to be functional to meet the needs of the business, but at the same time be sympathetic to the building and to the way that it is viewed externally. Consideration was given to how the building functioned not only during daylight hours but also during the hours of darkness, when it comes into its own, as a stunning piece of modern architecture.
Solution
Our Pace XL luminaires were specified for the open plan offices, these fittings provide a cost effective form of lighting, utilising T8 lamps, without compromising quality. The communal areas, such as the recreation room, have been fitted with our ProTec downlights. The ProTec range has proved to be very versatile, available in an array of sizes and with a variety of attachments. Other communal areas such as stairwells use our Amenity Decorative fittings which provide an impressive alternative to the industrial nature of so many other amenity luminaires.
When the daylight fades this building comes into its own. Our Avalon Bollards provide a welcome to visitors guiding them to the reception, whilst the Avalon Floodlights, mounted at ground level and angled up, illuminate all external walls of the building. Before visitors even enter the building they are inquisitive about what lays beyond the entrance doors, owing to the taster they are given by the now translucent glazing.
