Background
Located in the heart of Liverpool's thriving business sector, this Grade II listed building required refurbishment to pro- vide modern and flexible office space, incorporating a state of the art communications infrastructure. The lighting as with other aspects of the refurbishment needed to be sympathetic to the heritage of the building. The building will be used as "Serviced Offices", with permanent staff providing a wide range of administration skills for businesses wishing to operate from a central Liverpool location.
Solution
Our Neo Qel 1 Surface Linear was chosen for the offices at the top of the building. As the offices had a pitched glass roof it meant that regular modular luminaires, often used in office environments, could not be utilised. The Qel Linear showed itself to be versatile enough that it could be mounted onto this angled ceiling and still provide the empathy required to harmonise with it's historic environment.
Over the Reception area our ProTec fittings with drop glass ring were chosen. This popular fitting is very well suited to reception areas given the number of options available (it was also used for the entrance lobby and entrance foyer). Together with two of our Axant fittings which provide an angular, "wall-washing" light distribution they provide a welcoming ambiance for visitors.
